Hi,

Just a bit of a survey really.

What are you guys charging for pat testing, are you charging per item or by the hour r on large amounts are you on day rate?

Would be interesting to know.

:cool:ICE:cool:

Never seen it on hourly or daily rate and prices vary depending on the job prices seem to go from around £3.50 per item to 50p per item:confused:

Chris

£3.00.....fair play matey you're doing well there. Most of the specialist PAT companies round my way are putting the stickers on for 70p an item!!!

That means you gotta do over 300 items a day to get a half decent wage, either that or there are some people on rubbish money

That's crazy I would try and go for about 80 per day. Hard enough trying to sort out all the leads and extensions below desks. Wouldn't fancy trying 250 - 300 per day.

About 3 weeks ago I had the pleasure of observing a lesser spotted "PAT specialist" in his natural habitat. It was a large entertainment venue where I do routine maintenance/installs etc.

He arrived, no test kit in sight just a roll of pass labels and a pen.

I spoke to the owner later and asked what he was paying.....70p an item.

I've not bothered PAT ing for a while, just no money in it if you want to do it properly.:(

We used to charge £ 2.75 + vat for up to 100 apps but cowboy ( Label stickers ) are charging £ 1.52 so we have to compete hope this helps Paul

We're charging £2.20 - £3.00 at the moment. once you go in with the relevent printouts showing individual appliance results and tell them the HSE will ask for a copy of current and previous reports should someone get injured. Watch them come back to you when the sticker men cant provide them.

To digress I too have witnessed a PAT "professional" in work at a large college where the machine he was using didn't even have the facility to record results. I asked what paperwork he provided and he pointed to his trusty stickers. Guess what he was charging: yes thats right 60p an item!!!

Shocking
