Discuss where can i get a copy of GS38? in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

My megger 1730 came with little tips to reduce the exposed bit to 1mm or so.

I assume the 1552 did too, maybe they have been lost

No finger barriers and exposed metal tip exceeding 4mm.

The tip covers are always getting lost mate. When this first happened to us I raised it with our Megger area manager, he kindly provided me a plastic bag full of tip covers gratis.
You are correct, the waisted soft finger grips have an excuse of a finger "barrier" more of a grip ring than a true barrier. I'm glad you didn't fall in the usual fused test lead trap, as most modern instruments made to BS EN 61010 and/or BS EN 61557 do not require them because of the safety systems intrinsic in design of an instrument to these standards. However, you may choose to use fused test leads to protect against faults occurring between a single test lead and earth when the test probe is connected to an energised circuit eg. test lead trapped by an electrical cabinet door.
