I was asked today to install an extractor fan in a bathroom

So I was going to take a feed off of the lighting circuit

The fan i am installing does not require a cpc

however the lighting circuit in the property does not have a cpc anyway

Can i still install the fan or do i need to make sure the lighting is earthed since I have extended the circuit?

If your customer is happy to have the fan operated manually with a pull cord (as many do when they dont want the fan on at night when having a pee), then FCU of Ring Final Circuit as mentioned.

Pullcords are also often ignored, but then again like you said, some customers like to have control of a fan. It's all got to be down to what the customer wants really. Some want the fans, some hate them.

well, i wouldn't want you coming in for a dump while i'm in the jacuzzi with a large scotch in 1 hand and a smoke in the other. would put me right off .
