It had the title 'I smell fear' and was about Clive Betts visiting Trade Skills 4U?

It seems to have dissappeared from the face of the earth. I can't find it in the latest started threads section of my profile, I can't find it in the general forums, the only place I find it is on a forum search and even then, when I click on it it says 'invalid link'.

I suspect that it has been deleted from all view at the request of someone, can anyone offer any thoughts as to why it doesn't exist anymore??? Mods?? Admin??

The thread has been deleted by Dan with the reason being "legal issue". That's all I can see therefore I will now delete the quoted thread from a previous post on this thread.

'Legal issue' my bum!

I checked, double checked and triple checked my original post and although potentially offensive to one individual, there was absolutely nothing libelous about it whatsoever!

'Legal issue'? More like 'Cash flow issue*'!

*I suspect

The whole issue of the 5 week wonder has been approached, unfortunately the competent person schemes have chosen to completely ignore the new qualifications and instead are taking it upon themselves to let people in and then assess them. This is a huge conflict of interest.

The NICEIC are still enrolling guys who have just the 17th edition and they are being told to get the 2394 within the year and will charge them £400 ish to assess them each time as much as they deem necessary - they are now supposed to recognise the Domestic NVQ but they are ignoring it.

Training centres can create the courses required, TS4U have and were one of the first two. Unfortunatley there is no point saying to a noob that he should attend 6 weeks of full time college and then has a 2 year portfolio of evidence to achieve when he can ring the NICEIC and be told he just needs his 17th.

I am hoping that Carl took this opportunity to explain this in depth for Mr Betts MP to realize that those who are given the power to assess competence should not be given the power to determine training standards.

I am still pro license IMO - it's the only way.

Sorry but I can only report back what I find :(

My God what next here??? Surely if there was a legal issue (Which I very much Doubt) then editing the thread better than removing it altogether. When a member of the team needs to Moderate a thread, I, like almost everyone else here, would expect the OP to get Notification from the Moderator concerned with an explanation. I thought this sort of thing only happened in North Korea.

To be honest I don't send pm's out for every alteration I make to a post but would try and leave a simple reason below the post. If however I removed a complete thread then I would tend to pm the op with a reason. It's all really about available time as I have in the past been notified of a reported post and had to edit stuff quickly with no time for explanations :)
