You did when you said don’t expect too much from agency workers. That is a definite tar brushing
No I didn't I said there are some good ones and some awful ones; how is that a "tar brushing"?

You can't expect all of them to be good so you shouldn't expect too much from them, especially if you only want them for a few days.

If you expect all of them to be good then you could be in for a disappointment, but if you don't expect too much from them you could be pleasantly surprised; which would you rather be?

YOU SAid some are old some are old and don’t want it some are awful and can’t get a job on the books and others are new so no experience. I assume your on the books and dislike anyone coming to your job

Look at it from their position and think about why they're doing it - if you only want them for a few days they either need to find another job when you've finished with them, or earn enough in those few days to cover the times when they haven't got any work.
Some are new to the trade and haven't got the experience which employers are looking for, some are older than employers want, some have other commitments or only want to work locally, but then there are the others, who can't get a job on the cards because they're just awful. You might find you have to get twice as many subbies as you thought you might need because they might only work half as quickly as you'd like them to.

I love it when threads go off on a tangent/argument, it makes them more entertaining to read. I'm sorted now though but thanks. everyone I know is busy, and I can accept that from the subbie point of view 3 days work is nothing to really go out of your way to pick up. my lads 5 is that too soon? he's motivated and will work for tangfastics.
thanks again.
