TBH I think LAP have improved over the last couple of years, I've used a lot on rentals due to the usual cost cutting by landlords and they've held up well enough.
I do like Schneider kit but also Click.

Discuss Which brand of switch/socket should I change to? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net
The new MK BASE ( basic I think ) is a good bet it is their new cheaper range but still has the MK QUALITY. Has push fit connections, only seen positive reviewsI have used Crabtree for years. It's still ok, but I just don't like their sockets, as they stick out quite a bit compared to say MK or even the Lap ones.
Which brand is good to use? I do like the look of MK, but it's a bit expensive. I tend to buy in bulk and keep it in stock.
Hager is /was my first choice , but the trouble up here is that around the wholesalers there is only one that stocks them, so most of the jobbing sparks end up it the big sheds and buy what they can get.Who are you? ?
Cheers all, reckon I'll give click a go. I checked out a few older threads and it was pretty much identical suggestions. 80% click, 15% Hagar and 5% other.
They were great sockets, back when MK were the best with real quality. But the backbox would have to be installed dead level, imagine how that would turn out on the average new build estate now. ?I have a good stock of these, but having difficulty sourcing the back boxes...

Just don't mix up the BASE range (seem OK but not tried them) and the ESSENTIALS range, which appears to be the worst type of branded third party rubbishThe new MK BASE ( basic I think ) is a good bet it is their new cheaper range but still has the MK QUALITY. If you want to use all the same make of switches and sockets, in case you're not aware, there is the Click Grid Pro system.Though if there is a need for dimmer modules next to switches anywhere, I'll usually use the MK grid system and get the other light switches MK to match, they don't look too different in style from the Click Mode sockets
MK QUALITY. The last time I saw that was 30 - 40 years ago it went down hill when they introduced the twist shutter and has never recoveredThe new MK BASE ( basic I think ) is a good bet it is their new cheaper range but still has the MK QUALITY. Has push fit connections, only seen positive reviews
