I haven't done many rewires and have not come across the scenario where I need to bring all the cables down to a consumer unit in a chase. I expect there will be around 10-15 cables of varying sizes.

I can find 50mm capping but is there a better way to cover a large amount of cables in a chase or is a just a matter of using many pieces of standard size capping?

Cheers all.

Often found in Scotland, CU in downstairs loo, close to the ceiling, in recent builds. I suppose you can check the earthing by putting your foot in the bowl...
and they put that extra loo at the front too, but that's a different rant!

Wouldn't comply with building regs in England at that height in a new build anymore unfortunately.
Not entirely sure it does here either. But in the mass built new builds it's the way they all seem to be done. Probably find it's the same in England as building control don't bother much with it.
