I would agree with the MK or Hager. You might need to spend a little more but its better in the long run. I recently fitted an M2 consumer unit which i got from C.E.F. and it was an absolute nightmare. Out of a 6 and 6 split way board, five of the terminals of M.C.B.s broke exposing live parts. It wasnt cheap either, stay clear. I ended up ripping it out and going elsewhere for a MK.

they are fine as long as you get the free gift with every purchase to leave with the customer:

MEM and nothing else for me. They have a great range and all parts are interchangeable. I also really like the RCBO pods that can be attatched to any MCB.

im currently doing a course at Ableskills and we are using Contactum but i think the Tutor said that they have now gone out of business??? i could be wong!

there is a stockist i use who supply chint boards and breakers who they say make all the above brands and just put different stickers on them and now they have started putting there own stickers on them and selling them cheaper than those brands, eg. 13.95 for an RCBO is the cheapest ive seen anywhere

And who is it that told you Chint are made by the above with different labels?

Wholesalers??

Chint are Chint and no one else:

Chint Europe (UK) Ltd

They are a brand i would avoid, along with Protek and Proteus.

I wouldnt even use them in a shed.

All IMHO. :)

have to agree tried an M2 from CEF the other day absolute crap ,disconnection times on the rcd's weren't brilliant either.
should have stuck with the wylex dual ,touch dearer but a lot easier install.
