Hiya, I'm doing some research for my son (who works away a lot and doesn't get a lot of time!). He has passed his 16th Edition and recently passed the 17th Edition (my apologies if this all sounds a bit dim but I don't really understand it all!). He wants to do the Test & Inspection course (?) and I have been told by the college that there are two courses - C&G 2391 (which is a bit easier apparently) and C&G 2392. They suggest doing 2391 first and then follow it up with 2392. Apparently its a four day course and you can't just take the exam and read up at home (like he did for the 17th Edition exam). What I want to know really is if you have to pay to do the 2391 and you are not fully qualified why not take the 2392 first and if you fail take it again as you would need to take it anyway if you passed the 2391. Its quite expensive (I think around ÂŁ450) and my son has a lot of commitments and doesn't want to spend money unwisely. Wonder if anyone could give me some pointers please on which course. Also, any ideas where to get cheaper course books so he can do some studying at home. Thanks all, much appreciated.

Sorry All - told you I was stupid - I meant should he do the C&G2392 first (easier one) and then the CG2391 or just go for CG2391 first and hope for the best?
