Which Course

Hello, basically ive been doing Electrical Maintenance for 6 years and ive just been made redundant and now i want to get into house installations, wiring, testing etc. Ive got my 17th edition qualification. What other course shall i do to give my the experiance and knowledge???? 2391, AM2, Part P???

So if i did part p would there be much use doing the 2391 or am2??

You can still do these courses.The 2391 is a must.A majority of employers require this if you are applying for a job,especially in the industrial and commercial areas of sparking.The AM2 is part of the NVQ3,so i've been told.I did my AM2 with the 2362 back in 1987.

So if i want to re-wire and test wiring circuits in houses, factorys etc i will need my part p and 2391?? Sorry just trying to get my head around it all.

Ive got my apprentiship in electrical engineering, 17th edition, hnd in electrical engineering and PAT testing.

Im thinking of starting a new business and doing PAT Testing and house intallations and testing, but ive never done house wiring before so i want to get on the orrect courses which will give me a good understanding of it all.

With your electrical background I would go for 17th edition and 2391 and if you havent any experience on domestics possibly a domestic installers corse (eal i think)

Just booked on a part p course for next week at delta training, should be good. then im gunna do the 2392 course as its for the less experienced, then in time ill do the 2391. the ball is rolling

Have you checked out this site,i was talked out of doing the 2392 by my tutor,this may benefit you more if you are going down the domestic route.

Hmm, yes i know what you mean, it does look better. So why would people pay more for a longer tougher course if the could just do that one??

To be honest mate,i don't know,there is no way i would spend 6K on a course.

Quick question, ive just had a good look at my cu to get a bit of an understanding before the course, and i have my main switch feeding some a lights mcb, a socket mcb and the shower mcb, but it also supplies a rcd switch which is off, and that rcd switch supplies another socket mcb, so obviously am i right in thinking there are some sockets somewhere in my home that have no power?? and why are they supplied from a separate rcd switch??
