did my 15th regs, been out of it for around 10 years and just completed my 17th Regs. and halfway through my 2394 inspect and test.
So, which governing body do I join now? It seems I have to join one to be able to sign jobs off, although already a member of the IET thats not good enough. So which ones the best to go for. NICEIC seems the most expensive. I'll be mostly working on household domestic, so what about NAPIT?
Any info would be very useful.

I'd avoid the NIC too, just out of principle. Although you get punters who think that a spark needs to be in the NIC to be any good. The only thing you'll need from them is the ability to notify your jobs, so as I said, the cheapest one will do.

perfect thanks guys,
NAPIT seems good at ÂŁ216, but will look at Stroma and Elecsa. NIC is expensive at ÂŁ478 for first year.
good to be back sparking again!
Cheers

i agree! but can i self cert. without one of them?
i think the NAPIT one was for domestic only for that price, looks like it goes upto the 500 mark for commercial to

I'm with ELECSA & had my annual assessment today. No complaints so far & probably the cheapest, just. The assessors have always been spot on sound fellas, very helpful & informative.

My point is,

if, you had not notified any of the jobs you have probably notified over the past x years, what would have happened?
