Discuss Which Governing Body to go for? in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Im with ELECSA been with them for nearly two years now my choice was made by the fact there registration process was explained more clearly too me, There advisors where very helpful at the ELEX show and the name sounds more "electrical" than NAPIT !
Thing that really put me off NICEIC was being classed as Domestic Installer with there part P scheme and it would cost far too much for me to join as an approved contractor.

I did hear that what can be signed off without joining one of the bodies is changing and will increase in what a 17th reg electrician can sign off.

Thank you for your previous email with regards to becoming a NAPIT member the payment for the first year would need to be taken in one fee which would be ÂŁ480.00 + VAT = ÂŁ576.00.

Who has set it up so you can only certify certain areas of work without being part of one of the above groups? kitchens, bathrooms etc.. cant be shelf certified with out them. is it the IET?
