Ok, so having been offered & bought a Bosch GCL 2-50CG combo laser level at a really good price ( second hand, but unused), I'm looking for recommendations for a telescopic pole. Prices seem to range from ÂŁ50-120, so anyone have practical experience of say Bosch, De Walt or Stabila telescopic poles or indeed any other makes?

Thanks guys. I kinda just picked up over the years that poles were more flexible in use than tripods and that idea stuck! Of course I'm prepared to be educated to the contrary.

Tripods are cheaper, just make sure you have tripod shoe, quick release as is.

I have the yellow Stabila pole. Great for the price, cost around ÂŁ60 a couple of years back.
I have used it to dry line ceilings without the need for a second person to help. And obviously you are unlimited with the height range for the laser position. Another thing that swayed me was the fear that a tripod could be knocked over on a busy job - not good with an expensive level mounted on the top.

My Stabila has been battered in the last couple of years but is still going strong. Occasionally the shoe at either end can pop off if bashed, but it clicks back in no problem.

The best thing about it though is that it holds my ladders secure when driving about!

PS it's no good for pole dancing :eyes:

PPS it's this one: Stabila LT30 - Telescopic Laser Pole 135-365cm - http://www.axminster.co.uk/stabila-lt30-telescopic-laser-pole-135-365cm-102945
