Discuss Which SDS drill Bosch or Makita? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

Electricalserv - have you used the Makita? I don't actually have a comparison opinion yet.

As everyone I've spoke to at college/work etc say Makita everything else. Except always Bosch SDS for chasing.

I have the 24v makita. Its an ace bit of kit and thats no exaggeration. Get it!

I prefer the older 24V Bosch battery drill. The one with the LEDs on the battery to show state of charge.
I have two 3AH batteries, and the 15 minute charger. Would have liked the model with rotation stop for chasing, but this came along for ÂŁ100.

just got a makita bhr202z sds skin (18v) today as i already had 2 3ah batteries and charger, very impressed, used it all day drilling 6mm holes in solid concrete for wall plugs and didn't miss a beat and battery still going strong, although will still pull out the 240v bosch for the big holes, hope this is a help.

Had both and prefer the Bosch as a good all rounder.the makita was great for 6mm holes but rubbish when using hole saws as the torque limit was too low.
The Bosch 36v is the daddy used every day for the last 3 years worth the outlay

I've had both a 110V Bosch and Makita and I have to say that for no other reason than the feel of it, I'd go for Makita. Performance wise, I feel they have both performed the same.

for serious chasing etc. i use a makita 110v. no problems with flat batteries. the thing don't weigh a ton, and they're cheap to buy.
