Just seeing peoples opinions on the whiska Quixx glands for tails? Bad practice to use them without tails clamps within CU?

Trying to think what that reminds me of?
My old gaffer bared it back long and used one of the strands, I use a bit of 2.5.Is that strand still attached or 1 long strand cut off and used?
AKA whipping - whip it good !Try it, use a bit of bare 2.5 it makes a connection that doesn't settle as the strands don't shift.
I would suggest that binding the strands like this would be a good method where the terminal uses one or more screws bearing directly on the core, as it would protect the strands from damage, rather in the fashion of a bootlace terminal. On a cage clamp type terminal, I don't think it would offer any particular advantage over settling the strands properly into the terminal. It stops the copper strands shifting.
I disagree but each to his own.I would suggest that binding the strands like this would be a good method where the terminal uses one or more screws bearing directly on the core, as it would protect the strands from damage, rather in the fashion of a bootlace terminal.
