As above, looking at getting some 70degree 5core 35mm SWA, for a predominantly inductive load with no PF correction - not necessarily after the cheapest.

Experience of glanding, pulling in, robustness and performance, and pricing comments too please?

Prysmian
Nexans
?

Will be buying via CEF.

Chees.

CEF seem not to offer any specific brand these days, last lot we got was some Egyptian manufacturer, seems to have been OK though (I think at one time they were mostly Doncaster cables but CEF's owner's fell out or something and they stopped selling it).

Yesss nominally deal with Doncaster cables, but again sometimes they supply others (if it matters get it it writing!).

Prysmian cable seems to have the best reputation but others here have a lot more experience in this than I do. You ought to be able to get that from most wholesalers if you specifically ask for it.

Not sure why you are limiting your choice by using one supplier all the wholesalers generally buy in from specialist cable wholesalers
So why not go direct and get quotes from a few of the specialist cable suppliers like Cleveland cable, Elland cables or any of the many others that are around and cut out the middle man and save yourself a bit more money

All cables manufactured to the standards should be equally capable of dealing with the load regardless of it being inductive. Equally they should all be capable of being installed according to the minimum bend radius stated in the regs. There might be slight differences in their ease of stripping but I wouldn't normally see that as a reason to pay considerably more.

I've done projects in the past that needed 6 or 7 km of SWA cable and even when I offered to arrange transport many of the manufacturers and main importers refused to deal with us direct because we're not a registered wholesaler. It might be different in the UK.

35mm isn't too big of a size for you to encounter too many problems with. Only issues would be getting it around tight bends etc. I've never before asked for a specific brand of SWA as said above they should all do the same job and be of similar standard if wholesalers are flogging it!

The outer sheath can be a pain in cold weather but won't be a problem in the current conditions.

Agree with the above as well that decent glands etc are a more important find but I've never encountered problems with glands for anything 35mm or less.

Could be personal preference as well but I prefer using CW glands over BW glands even for indoor terminations.
