Over here in yorkshire 'our lass' aint allowed in kitchen as shes lethal, she once made a meal using dried peas and nearly cost me a tooth as she didnt understand you had to soak them overnight.

I have just made a toasted bacon and fried egg sandwich for missus and it looked too good so I ate it myself .... then I made another one for er upstairs + cup of tea ... Am about to go off and attend to a leaking flat roof and though I can affect a temp repair in the rain, I prefer keeping dry and eating passes the time when it's raining ...

Where we have our canal boat tied up next to the farm it has become a source for fresh lamb ... and minty is now nestling nicely in our freezer . Wife is a better cook than me so I am happy to agree that it is better for her to do it ... I'm not even allowed to load washdisher due to my apparent lack of ability in putting things in the right place! Shame lol

Lastly, due to friendship by way of online bridge reunions we had the good fortune to invite "Cortese" over from France whereupon we find he was/is a Chef - he was in LA for a year as top chef in Gene walking in the rain Kelly's restaurant! We got him to cook a nice leg of lamb finger licking good

although cooking food is like making a cup of tea it ALWAYS tastes better if someone else ( The Mrs) does it

I am one of those Lucky people whose Mrs is a Damn fine cook

It's the reason I got married to Mr GRR. He's a much better cook, and if I wasn't married, I would have wasted away by now because I would never have bothered to cook myself anything.

My wife puts all her emotions into her cooking.......mostly anger, so if it requires tasting, I cook.

that sadly sounds very familiar i think i live with a combination of a normal grown woman who turns into a kind of domestic kevin the teenager. we get one of those veg bags from her school, anything only slightly non standard gets a full nose turned up at it. although be fair she can unpack a mean pizza

We do it together.. I quite enjoy it really, but the Mrs did go through a stint of throwing 'dinner parties' a while back which was interesting (stressful)

We did manage to pull off a pretty damn good beef wellington.. well pleased with that.

It's just a bit much having the kitchen in the living room, open plan kind of thing when you're 'entertaining'

The only meal I can cook is egg and beans on toast

Beans in the microwave eggs burning in the pan Toast in the toater and all done in 1 minute flat

So endeth my cooking skill
