My reasoning being, A. It's a protest vote, and B. We have to be realistic here. Chances are, the Tories are gonna win the election, however not with a majority. They will have to form a coalition and its more than likely it will be with UKIP rather than Lib Dems. At least with UKIP in number 10 as well, we will be guaranteed our EU referendum today, and not in three years time.

Believe me, there is a hell of a lot I disagree with UKIP on, but truth be told, I want out of the EU, and I actually like Farage.

I have a vote so it is my responsibility to use it, but I want radical change, and voting for Labour will not bring me that.
fair play, you explained that well, thanks for participating in the thread mate, as you can see from the poll result so far others think the same, UKIP are tearing the rest apart at the moment and running away with it.

my prediction is a conservative majority, or close to it, with ukip getting quite a few seats, and possibly forming a coalition. lib-dems will get their noses pushed out, along with the greens.

What about the next government of labour/SNP/Plaid cymru and the SDLP.

Edited for factual correction

What about this grand alliance i keep hearing of consisting of labour/SNP/Plaid cymru and the SDLP.

And then the UK enters the uncharted territory of Italian politics, where the Government changes almost by the season - god help us ALL if this happens.

Said it before and will say it again - I expect 2 elections this year, if the first one doesn't result in a fairly conclusive Government by no more than 2 parties.

For any of you thinking of voting for Ukip, remember pre war Germany where the people were without hope and had been humiliated
They turned their heads to a very dangerous and in hindsight foolish extreem party, don't wish or assist the same to happen here

The disillusioned electorate who have succumbed to the anti EU propaganda that has been dished out by the powerful and the wealthy

We could be suckered into a coalition of fear and English nationalism, remember the anti EU majority is mainly English rather than British based and this election is reflecting that nationalism

There will be sadness and conflict in this country if this Ukip fever is not put out soon, use your x sensibly and do not vote for the same type of failures of the past

As an outsider looking in. Would i be right in thinking if a tory/ukip gov get in, then scotland will more than likely have a rerun of the referendum and go independent.

Nationalism doesn't have to be a dirty word you know. It's not like Ol' Farage is considering genocide is it?!

This time round I'm going against my overall political beliefs and voting lib-dem.

The reasoning behind this is that I recently saw Nick Clegg announce that he would increase spending on mental health.

Even if like every other politician he goes back on his word the subject will be debated and it's profile raised.

Every single government has left the mental health sector badly under funded.

Everyone on here knows someone with mental health issues, so why is it so badly under funded and overlooked?
