Is there anywhere in the regulation that says an installer can't just bury a cable like twin and earth directly into the wall, without capping or conduit? I can't find it anywhere and it seems it is only an issue with plasterers who are worried about nicking the cable.

i would never leave cables uncapped

just looks a bugger and a plasterer would no doubt damage it, say nothing then bury it ready for a fault when you juice it up

takes 2 mins to fix it over the cabes and looks better

although there is nothing in the regs to say you have to cap them, even metal capping you can still stick a nail through or drill theough

lol LLoydy You realy let the plasterer get under your skin today m8y personaly id do like you suggested and wee wee in his mix when hes not lookin lol But seriously Capping has its place which is over cables offering at least some hind of protection from lloydys M8s and helps hold cables in a straightish line When i was doing my time the tradesman I had fixed galv capping to an outside wall with a Hilti gun but didnt realise Black caps arent meant for brick the nail shattered the brick n made a right mess
