I'm looking at these USB Wifi borescopes and would like to hear if anyone here uses them and the limitations etc

I'm looking at using it inside a machine to try and fine tune some mechanical settings by seeing exactly what's happening, its possible to see part of the problem, but certain areas are out of view, plus it moves very quickly.

Also does anyone know if you can record and watch in slow motion?

, plus it moves very quickly.

The framerate is not great on the one I use.

You can record, it just saves the file into your phone's normal gallery, so whether you can watch back in slow-mo or not is up to your phone, not the endoscope software.

I have one that has its own screen. It's useful to a point. But the problem I have is getting the camera end to point in the right direction. Maybe some of the more expensive ones incorporate a mechanism for turning the camera head independently of the "snake".

I have one, it's a USB version but the camera is the same.

The picture quality isn't great, as for framerate I think that's more to do with the capture software, but when I tried just wafting my hand in front it was just a blur, no detail whatsoever.

But it was about ÂŁ5.00

I have the Stanley branded one, biggest complaint is the depth of view of the camera, ie you can't see what you're looking at unless its practically in front of the lens. I've looked at getting something better e.g. The cable rod branded one but really wouldn't buy anything I can't play with first, and nowhere seems to demo them.

Nice one available from ToolStation. Mine works well for the occasional job and even if it doesn't do the job for you it's only ÂŁ21 so could go into your 'might come in useful one day' cupboard:
