Will 18th edition have any impact on the am2 exam

I have almost finished my NVQ Portfolio and will soon be booking my place at an am2 test centre. I know there is a long waiting list at some of these places and I wonder if the exams will be changed at all by the time I take mine?

To be more specific, does anyone know whether there will be an impact on the am2 by the 18th edition regs kicking in?

I'm training myself to be competent for the current am2 exam but I think anyone looking to take the am2 should be prepared for any changes!

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I wouldn’t overthink it or get worked up about it, when I did my am2 we have a ‘revision’ day where they talked us through step by step. At the end of the day it’s still going to be ‘connect A to B’ and a spec to follow.

Although 18th Ed. is live now, it doesn't become compulsory until January 2019. I'm sure test centres will offer AM2 courses under the 17th until that time. As mentioned above, you will be issued mock-up job sheets that specify exactly what to use and what methods to use to wire it.

Cheers
