Will automatic light switch drive dimmable LED bulb?

Hi Folks,

I use a couple of automatic light switches for when I'm away, they are fully electronic with triacs, they do not have contacts or relays. I fitted them in place of the original 2 wire wall switches, they presently switch old fashioned 60W incandescent bulbs. (To be clear the automatic light switches are not dimmer switches and are they not compatible with cfl bulbs, I tried one)

Want to know whether I can replace a 60W bulb with a dimmable LED bulb (say 10W) and whether it will still work with the automatic switch?

Automatic light switches often have no neutral attached and power the switch by sending a small current through the resistive load of the lamp.
This is fine for incandescent lamps as they will pass a mA current without any effect, for any sort of electronic control such as in CFL and LED the current would not flow (or the lamp would actually light) and the battery in the switch would soon become flat.
