Came home to a voicemail from a chap a couple of miles up the road. The big gales two days ago ripped a panel from his roof and can I provide a quote to fix it for his insurance company! Not one I installed thankfully.:punk:

Just spoke to him. He's already got a couple of companies going to quote. I told him that there wouldn't be much I could do since my roof monkey went and got a proper job and I'm no longer installing pv. However, I did offer to go and have a look! He'll let me know if the others don't show up. Happy to push it your way if this is the case and you're interested Chris? Apparently only one panel came off and landed in next door's garden. His installation can be seen of Google (hopefully the link'll work)

He's actually on quite an exposed ridge on the side of Sedgley Beacon - a local high point.

Thanks Julian. I'm not sure it'd be worth it for us. Competing against two other firms and being the other side of the black country. I think it would be too much hassle to be honest. Appreciate it though.

Any idea which panel it was that came off? And did the panel come off the rail, or rail come off the roof?

Just one panel came off the rails - don't know which one. Sounds like the roof works are still in tact, although I suppose there is a small chance that if a rail or two becomes detached from the roof at a couple of points and subsequently flexes in the mild breezes we've been having, a panel might pop out of its clips? Shame it's at the back of his house. I'd pop over and have a gawp otherwise.
