Hello,
could someone please help me clarify some job titles. Is an armature winder the same as an electrician winder, or an electric motor rewind mechanic(Maybe an American term).Do they perform the same duties?Would an armature winder be involved in testing the motor once rewinding was complete or do they only do the rewinding itself?
I am confused because I have read that an electrician can specialise and become an armature winder whilst elsewhere I have read that armature winders simply deal with the winding of coils on motors etc without much formal experience as an electrician? So it seems that some armature winders are electricians and some are not?Is this the case?Am I wrong to think that the majority of armature winders have no contact with electricity at all but merely do the winding?
Thanks for any info and clarification
