Hello, I would liked to install a Byron wired doorbell with built in chime and 8v transformer. I'm struggling to get power source.
I have a light close to the front door. Would it be ok to use this the light cable as a power source? I would have to put some kind of switch and have it permanently on for power to the door bell. Other wise I would have to have the light switch on all the time to get power to the doorbell.

By the way I don't have a doorbell at the moment...no existing wiring.

Any advice on the best way to do it would be great!! Thanks Ken

The light may have a permanent supply already inside it if you are lucky.
