Hi Guys,

On Monday I am going to be doing my first bit of wiring. Its a commerical site and we will be wiring in singles. I will be wiring a room that has PIR and emergency light and 6 normal lights. Can I have a bit of help on how it's done. There is also a normal and key switch in the room so need to know the connections within that as well.
I know I need to take my feed from the board to the switch along with the earth. I'll take the neutral to the first light but from there I get a little stuck.

Your help would be gratefully appreciated.

Dave

basically, loop all fittings with a neutral. feed L to switch/es and s/l from switch/es to fittings. for the em's, L to keyswitch and then to em's.

OK, let me know if this is right.
Take the L from the board to either the key switch first or the normal side. Take a loop feed from common of one side and put into the other.
Then take a S/L from the normal side up to the normal lights and loop to the other normal lights. Take a S/L from the emergency side and take it to the emergency light. Let me know if this is right please. Also how do I wire the PIR ????

Not sure. For the sake of this could you give an example for both. Also, my mate was giving me this info so the switch and PIR might be wrong. However, how would I wire a PIR with the lights ?

Ta for your help.

If maintained you'll need to loop the emg fittings with your non emg s/l as well as your emg s/l, if non maintained then just the emg s/l. Wire the PIR like it was another switch, so take a perm feed to the PIR and a neutral, then a s/l back out to your first light.
