not unhelpful at all, id say non maintained inside and maintained outside as they may b used jus to iluminate the exits of a night, its just the wiring of them im unsure of, ie would they need key switches or could they b tested by switching off breaker? and how to connect them up as ive neva used them before

Hes got a point mate!

How can you expect us to be able to give you all of the answers if you turn up with half of the question?

Do you understand the difference between maintained and non maintained?

Lets start from the begining again shall we, we will help you if you help us mate

fair point there, my apologies i did realise it woz a bit vague after id posted it, yh i kno the difference but ive never used them before so ent 100% on them. im working on a nursery which is 2 identical houses knocked in 2 1, we had the fire marshall round and he recommended, 1 above each of the staircases, 1 downstairs in both houses and 3 outdoors on all the points of exit.

Can't answer either as the question seems to be in some sort of code and not English.

Lol i cant comment these days, have you seen my spelling recently...........sometime im wondering if im typing in greek.

Ok shall we see if we cna gaiv this guy something to work on, while ripping him for his yoof speak??

As far as i can remember and its been a long time since i did any, maintained do not need a fish key as they are illuminated at all times, non maintained do.

Could be wrong im sure the guys will correct me if i am

So the outside lights will be used to iluminate the area surrounding the exterior of the fire exit, and will be to provide adequate lighting for escape routes in the dark.
Should be on dawn to dusk sensors perhaps, no point them being on in daylight. Should also perhaps only be switched on when the premises are in use.
The interior lights are perhaps required to be again when the premises are in use, and are required to provide to adequate lighting for, and to indicate escape routes.
These should perhaps have arrows indicating the direction of the escape route and to be visable when there is smoke.
Often lights are required at each fire exit, on the inside, to indicate that they are fire exits.
Either the use of a fish key, or the lighting MCB should be accceptable for testing.

I would however ask for clarification, as the use of non-maintained lights would not appear to be appropriate.

It’s getting to the point where full LED replacement is cheaper than spending time on testing and possibly replacing parts.
