Hi all, this will be my 2nd post as a member.

I want to replace my existing pendant lights in my living room with 8 x 35Watt GU10 led downlights. Was just wondering about the best method of wiring these together so they can be operated from a two way dimmer switch. Ie: In two groups of four.

Really appreciate any help with the above.

Cheers! :)

Two disagree now that domestic work comes under part P.
edit. I never said it would need notifying, but compliance with part P is still required, and as such it will require testing and certifying in accordance with Bs7671.

It's good to know you guys in England all know what work comes under Part P, it sounds like a glaring success:(

I know exactly what's notifiable, sadly WP doesn't seem to have grasped it just yet.

Wirepuller - You're just being pedantic and deliberately awkward now - you were wrong in saying that this particular job comes under Part P,it's an alteration to an existing circuit and not in a special location, no point in trying to play on words just admit it.
ALL domestic work comes under the scope of part P whether it's notifiable to BC or not. Part P dictates that all work in a domestic location must be designed and installed in accordance with Bs7671. That means a minor works form must be issued for any alteration or addition to an existing circuit. You are wrong in saying it does not come under part P because it is not notifiable.

I'm afraid you seem to think that part P only applies to notifiable work.

Of course I know that Part P applies to all Domestic electrical work as stated in the actual document, I thought you were originally telling the OP that the work he was planning was notifiable which it isn't, but if I got this wrong I apologise.
