What detector should be fitted in a room with a wood burner? I know a Carbon Monoxide detector is required but what should be installed out of a smoke detector or heat detector?

The multisensor from Aico is a combined smoke/heat sensor......they sense heat first and if over temp 60 c they activate.....if lower heat is detected around 50 c they must react with the optical smoke at the same time.....there good sensors for false alarms, but IMO very slow reacting detectors.

may not be required by law, but get yourself a carbon monoxide detector, wont cost much but may save your life.
CO comes out when theres fire and not enough ventilation/oxygen around. kills silently, you fall asleep and dont wake up any more.

It's a good point about oxygen in a modern nearly airtight house . If it is your own house make sure you have plenty air to feed the fire and your family.
If it is a customers ,it would be nice to make sure they have too.
