So who was the electrician on the job?

she was having some building work done in the garden and used there electrician to do all the works and the kitchen company got me in to wire up the appliances and i am a electrician

Right so has she been given the installation certs by the electrician who did the install?

if the earth had come off the hob, and the hob and become live, suggests to me the hob was faulty, that wouldnt excuse you if the earth had come off, how did you test the earth on the hob ? did the rcd trip ?

so, just to get this clear. you fitted a FCU and appliance to a no-energised, disconnected circuit and she got a shock. obviously that must have been after the other spark energised the circuit. not your problem.

i asume so i sent my cert to the kitchen company as i got given the job from them

i have been trying to think what is the best thing to do she is asking for my insurance details and as i am not nic she is asking who certifies my works

that is correct i fitted a spur to a non energised circuit on my first visit and when i went back 4 weeks later all circuits were live and she got a shock saying her electrician said i didnt connect the earth.

i havent been paid from the kitchen company they are now saying i had to send invoice to her but they asked me to do the works.

Dont have any more comminication with her. Send your invoice to the kitchen company, with an attached letter explaining that you were working for them and not her.
Looks like you are in for a hard time, but stick to your guns, and just deal with the kitchen company and dont let them fob you off. Do all comminication via email or letter, so you have a record.

Tell the lady that all dealings go through the contractor and not you as you didn't carry out the work for her. Tell the contractor that they deal with her and not you. You were effectively just a contractor to them nothing else it is there problem to resolve not yours.

i have kept all emails from the kitchen company and from the customer and regarding them paying me i have no chance as they are saying that in the quote it explained the customer will be paying kitchen fitters and electrician.
they have said about taking us to court so spoken to solicitey and he said not to worry as liabilty insurance is for sorting that out

Well if that is the route she chooses to take let her, the judge will then tell the contractor it is their responsibility insurance wise as they employed you not her.

What action they may take against you is another story altogether though.
