Anyone bought a rechargeable led work light.?
just wondering if they're a good bet as my mains powered 2D has finally given up

any experiences?

I've got the makita 18v rechargeable, one of the brightest rechargeable I've used, battery charges in 22 mins, good spread of light, can't go wrong really! Only one down side, unless you've already got makita batteries/chargers it's quite pricy as a standalone unit...

get one compatible with batteries from other tools you are using (makita, dewalt, etc)

i have a fluorescent 18v ryobi and it does the job (useful when no power, consumer unit change under the stairs, fault finding etc)
, but for daily use have a 4d 38watt defender light from screwfix. (25 quid!)

ones with battery built in are no use, you will be left with useless junk after built in battery packes up (and they are not the best quality either)

good headtorch does the job too :)

Ive got the dewalt light

Charges the battery's when plugged into the 110, and runs for 2hours + without it, good for DB changes

We got a 10w LED work light recently from CEF. Looks similar to the one below. Built in battery, IP rated and lasts around 5 hours off a charge. About £50+VAT. Handy for lofts or under floors or lighting a smallish room. To replace a 2d you'd be better to try the 20w version. We're that happy with the 10w one though, we just ordered another :)

Screwfix are doing the 10W LED rechargeable for £30 at the moment, not used one as yet but reviews on it seem good. Between 4 and 5 hours usage on a charge.

Got a 10 led rechargable work light from LED hut, a few months ago. Small in size but big on light output. 4hrs ish . Much better than my wired 2D. Register as trade for even better price.
Highly recommended

Possibly abit late now for the original post vxwestie but have just bought a rechargeable 10w led light from screwfix £29.99. Double the price in c.e.f. Excellent bit of kit. Includes wall charger an 12v charger for the van. New smd led chip. Extremely bright an lasts good few hours.
