Went to do an EICR the other day, upon arrival and chatting with the boyfriend of the woman he explains "yeh well I know a bit about electrics and do bits and bobs for people" .....painter by trade. Alarm bells ringing already.

Whilst doing a quick visual come across this out the back. I.P rated bulkhead was removed for his Picasso.

Needless to say it was swiftly disconnected much to his protests of it must be safe as it works.

No continuity of cpc on sockets...metal fittings he's changed 4 without a cpc in the back.

Don't know if trust this guy to paint a paint by numbers to be fair.

Wow that's appalling.

Nothing stopping it getting rained on, not even bothered to use the bodger's favourite tool the black tape. Hole in wall probably not drilled at a good angle meaning it will dribble inside when it rains. Outer sheathing not terminated in light properly.

Anything else?

Can't see much wrong with it really

Works don't it ?

When your local paint slosher starts to offer to re-wire houses and change consumer units then we know the industry is going to hell in a handcart
