Hi There,

I am currently wiring a car body repair workshop.

The owner doesnt want transformers everywhere and has asked me to lookinto 10 x 110v twin points around the workshop running from one transformer.

I have looked into it and was just checking whether to wire the circuit in 4.00m singles as the run to the furthest point will be about 80 metres by the time you follow the existing steel trunking.

Can anyone confirm this?

Many Thanks

Sam

Looking at probably 5KVA wall mounted transformer to do 2 similar circuits as they say there will not be much power needed, sanders/polishers etc

well just work out your maximum load you will need including diversity and then apply to cable calcs and you shall have the correct cable.

Tony has raised a good and important point.
We have 110V sockets in our workshops and they are protected in the 1st instance by an RCD supplying the Tranny, then double pole MCB's in the 110V C.U.
