in other words it will only work on refurbs?

plaster board sheets are 1200 wide so if it only works on 450mm (old boards of 900 im guessing) they wouldnt get a lot of use
All the new builds I do use 400 centres, which use 1200 mm boards. You use 450mm centres for loft conversions and jobs like that where you can not carry a 1200mm board up a staircase, that's where they use 900mm boards.
Wouldnt buy a house built with 600mm centre walls , dodgy

I saw these at my wholesalers for the first time last week - and they said that opinion has been a complete love/hate divide marmite scenario. Personally, I think it's a great idea - 3 boxes first fixed on a timber frame newbuild in the length of time it takes to put two screws in. No trudging around looking for some scrap for a noggin, no sawing and nailing, just job done. No getting the boxes bashed and knocked out of true when your back is turned, either. OK, there's always going to be times when traditional methods will be better, but I'll race you to a kitchen layout......
