wrong polarity on led strip light

might be answering my own question here if you have wrong polarity on a strip light the lamp will still work so we are in the process of changing these to led strip light (flurocents this is ) were the lamp is 18w 75v dc you only have to wire one end of tube but if you get the wrong polarity it dosnt work it causes no harm to the tube but is it the electronics in the led that prevents the tube striking

An LED will only work one way round, if that's what you're asking? It is only a diode after all....
