[ElectriciansForums.net] Wrong??

Are bus bars right?? First two mcbs on left are non RCD.
did EICR today, didnt look right to me bus bars are touching, dead short 0.00
voltage check with main switch on, RCD off get 0v. So not back feeding
Just gut feeling its not right. DB cover has been modified (rough) to fit MCBs through 'cut-out'

I don't think the bus bars are touching prob missing by a hairs width. In the old MK boards there are always loads of add on bars probably cos they went obsolete years ago.
Tip if you ever remove any keep em

will do :) normally add them to scrap bag but ill stop doing that!
continuity test definitely said touching. but no voltage.
so should i ignore this when i write remedials list?

i'd give it a C2 to cover my arse if there was any comeback, or cut the busbar down and fit the unused MCB in the no.3 slot.

you post has just given me clarity.....
its not my arse im covering!! testing on behalf of another company so why am i worrying?!?! He can have final say! Ill just show him pic and let him decide!

No :( wish i had now but didnt think of it. didnt start worrying so much about it until i was at the next job, been thinking about it since

The amount of remedials is ridiculous, thanks to damn DIYers! Rental company is going to think we are trying to rip them off lol.
If was a private customer I would probably suggest a rewire/partial rewire. Not a necessity in safety terms but worth it!!

3mm gap needed on a DP switch but 0.5mm is fine between busbar's ? 60A Main switch .... what's max demand ? Perhaps the client needs advising of the remaining life of at least the board ? :)

I think I might be tempted to test this theory, if it can be done without causing danger to anyone.
