50 Amp Wylex MCBNSB50 [ElectriciansForums.net] wylex 45A mcb? NSB mcb's designs are subject to change
MCB's may differ slightly on new purchases and from existing mcb's
but are all interchangeable

MCB terminal capacity, </B>25 mm on all mcb's
Wylex-NSB MCB ( Type B )
Rated 50 Amps
General Domestic Consumer Unit use

Wylex NSB MCB's detect overcurrents due to both overload and fault currents.
The MCB will operate and interrupt the supply to prevent damage to the installation.

  • Wylex NSB Domestic MCBs have a short circuit breaking capacity of 6000A (M6).
  • The current carrying capacity of the cable should always exceed the current rating of the MCB to prevent damage.
  • The operating dolly may be locked in either the ON or OFF position without affecting the ability of the trip mechanism to operate.
  • When in the off position, a contact gap of 4 mm is achieved. Wylex NSB MCBs may therefore be used as single pole isolating switches where appropriate.

I would fit a 40a one. a B type MCB will run at 5 times rated current for a lot longer than it takes to have a shower. I Have fit loads with no problems. Nothing wrong with 50, its just my opinion.

Cheers..........Howard:)
