anyone still fitting wylex consumer units , have they sorted out their problems with the mcbs melting , is it worth still using them?

Multi9's is the merlin gerlin right ? Load star not seen it , I tel you wot I've had 3ph Forman smith recently flat pack do these companies confer with a electrician before designing ?

We get Eaton CUs now for similar money to Wylex so use these or if on a budget, Denmans own brand units

I knew load star but yet to install or either do any work on one yet . Seems that wot db's sparky's use differ from county to county , but all I install like 90% of the time easily is quickline and so happens to be my fav to

good thing with proteus is you can fit the CU then worry about the knock outs, nothing like fitting the board then realising you need to try knock a bigger hole,, but not too big! used to fit crabtree starbreaker all the time, nice layout but as above, gota get the knock outs right before you fit

Still can't see the appeal of wylex (and have never have made anything good imo), ugly, unreliable grey box on the wall. Also lost my temper many times with trying to get the knock outs out and another cable in when adding circuits to them.

Don't mind MK (ok the cover is a pig to get on) but normally using contactum (or the British General version) still
