Wylex fuseboard history....

Evening all

Could anyone tell me a rough timeline on old Wylex fuseboards....

The brown ones, the wooden base ones, the ones with the insulated backs... the cream coloured ones... any info would be appreciated

They were introduced in the 1950s in brown and black unsure if cream was available then.

Good old Wylex Standard CU I think you can still get them.

I especially like the metal ones with 2 screws on the incoming tails. Built to last unlike the carp produced by the BEAMA mob these days

Not enough ways and I'd like the odd socket or 2 to have RCD protection.

Fitted a few, metal clad, and the white plastic with wooden frame, then all plastic. the metal 12ways were good.DP switch in middle.

How do you number circuits when the main switch is in the middle?

I went left to right, 1-12.
