Apologies for newbie question- I'm only an occasional sparky and get stumped by these things from time to time- What's the best way to get hold of these old Wylex fuses? I presume they're not made any more like this? Hope this picture comes over OK....

What's the reason for replacing....has it blown? If so, how do you know, is there no supply? Does it need downgrading? Is it for a new circuit?.......
It's simply absent as the circuit was taken out while a flat was being renovated, and someone didn't keep it in a safe place. Just want to replace it. Nothing blown etc. It's the main fuse post Key Meter into the flat, alongside 6 identical old fuse boxes. I know I could run a lower rated fuse here, but thought why not stick the same back in it as was in it before.

Are they 'old fuse boxes' or switch fuses supplying the flats individually?
The latter. Apologies - I appreciate I'm being a little sloppy with my terminology here, I'm guess 'fuse box' would refer to some kind of CU which would be further down the chain in the property itself. These are the switched fuse post Key Meter and Pre CU. Of course there are fuses on the tails too, before these switched fuses. This whole rig was put together by a very low- budget slum landlord some years back and may well have not been installed to the absolute letter of whichever 16th /17th edition was in force at the time... Most of the electricians that get sent to these flats speak little english and nor do the tenants, so as near neighbour with enough knowledge to be a menace, I often get called upon to try to intervene...

i've got a 45A with carrier ( that's the bit that goes behind the fuse ), the slots will probably be slightly different to the 60A. take care when fitting as the lower contacts will be live unless isolated upstream. pm me you address and i'll post it to you.
