Been having a reshuffle of our media devices. Xbox and old Wii have been relegated to the spare room.

so comes the problem. Xbox One worked fine yesterday, although a little slow, but new batteries in the controller seemed to help. Updated a few games… took forever.

Just tried it tonight, green loading screen, “hello” user message then it just goes black. Doesn’t seem to be loading up.
Can press and hold the button on the controller to bring up the “turn console off” restart options, but just isn’t booting up.

tried turning-it-off-and-back-on-again but same issues.

Any ideas, geniuses? (Genii?)

TL;DR
Xbox One does not load up. Help
There's been a problem with the xbox1
My grandson started playing up and I started to have a look kept over heating
And the fan started to slow down taken the lid off and it fired up start away and now no lid on stop works fine.

FIXED

hmm. following support on the microsoft website....

press and hold in the button on the left (above the usb slot, didnt know it was there) and the eject button (good job i got long fingers) and press the on button.... start up ping twice.... gets you into troubleshooting mode.
From there, perform a factory reset. (soft reset didnt work)

So i lost all the game saves and had to set it all up again, but the games are still there

My sons started cutting out. Found the psu was overheating. Pulled off the 4 rubber feet, removed the screws and pulled it apart. The fan was blocked solid ( the joys of having 2 cats and a dog. The fur gets everywhere). A good clean up and it's run fine since
