PV-Sol treats the sanyos as mono's. PV-Syst accounts for the HIT technology so if anyone is running that could you do us a comparison, i'd like to have this cleared up.

We've done more schott than sanyo, like others have said i'll only use sanyo on a small roof.

Only problem with schott is the stacking system during delivery, we've had 6 panels turn up shattered this year, 4 in November when we really could have done without extra hassle, also still trying to get the refund from Segen for damaged ones we received in JULY!!! Get on with it Segen...

Exactly, its only a 5M square roof, so either 8 normal size modules or 10 sanyo's. So it could be worth the extra money if he gets another 500w+ on the roof!

35 degree, southfacing:

HIT240 - 865kWh/kWp/yr

Schott 235W - 849kWh/kWp/yr

(based on 16 panels plugged into a Fronius IG 3.6 TL in the midlands)

I have to agree with some of the points raised. Completely unscientific test but many of our customers send us their production figures for the year and the highest figures we have had so far have been Schotts- couple with this the build quality which is exceptional and I would expect the drop off in production over 25 years to be under 10%, I would not even mention the likes of Sharp in the same breath as Schott, I wouldnt let a sharp anywhere near my roof

Sanyo will be kicking out a good few watts this month, best panel by a mile - performace wise. Some cheaper "import" panels do even have enough current to switch on the inverters in these dull conditions.

Sadly Sanyo are 30-40% overpiced right now
