Hi,

Nice easy one, I have a gas pipe, its metal, but painted, no supply to properly, its just capped, but live.

As for bonding, what would you do? Just sand some paint off and bung a clamp on it? That's my thoughts, whats yours? I know you are meant to only put it supply side, but there isn't one.

Sorry i meant Consumers side of the meter, not supply side, my mistake, I do know that. I would imagine that it is extraneous as its been there 50 years and is metal, chances are it is, I will test it, but I can almost bet that it is, you would bond it if had a meter on the top wouldn't you...

you say theres a metalclad socket outlet near it yes....

rite...thats your reference point....

get a Zs on that socket outlet...then IR between that and this pipe....

prove its extranious...or not..

Surely it is irrelevant if there is a meter fitted or not! if you test it and it needs bonding then you bond it.

I can't believe how much of a deal you are all making out of this, we'll I can actually.

i only asked what you would do with regard to sanding a bit of paint off the pipe, I've already established in going to bond it, I just wondered if anyone else had a better suggestion...
