cheers mate,
i have my 2391 written on thursday 10th and practical assessment on the 15th of june so needed to make sure as i have a megger 1552 and for practical will be using a fluke and i am not used to it thanks

surely they should let you use your own meter as long as it calibrated, have you asked?

my megger i got last august i did another course for 2382,2377,2393,and part p. I got the megger at the end of the course as part of the cost of the course i have not used it as i am not working at minute just studying since feb for this 2391 as i am a carer for my mrs. the megger has never been used the calibration certificate is dated last jan 2009 i asked megger and they said as i havent used it and its guaranteed for 3 years the calibration only starts from the date of commission ie when i start to use it so still calibrated according to them.
but i dont know if the college would let me use it still has all wrapping around it not used on any testing
as i want to hopefully pass the 2391 then start to set up for myself to be able to work from home so dont kow mate my written on thursday practical following tuesday just av to give it a go and hope for best if not take a resit i paid extra for a optional day ÂŁ85 to practice on athree phase and single phase but there was 4 of us doing all the required tests between us with one meter bit s??? really as we didnt get to do all the tests

If it is a megger 1552 there is a quick start guide in there with it that explains all the tests pretty well. TBH i would go with your own meter as you can be practising with it on your house and get really familiar with it.

cheers mate i am going to ask them can i use it we will see
when i do the assessments do i have to carry out safe isolation on the 1st and second assesments even though they are dead

also for the 2nd test insulation resistance do i test it as a whole installation and when i locate say a fault between l-n start turning breakers of till the insulation resistance rises then i will know which circuit the fault is on cheers mate
