Yet you find it easy to connect the probes to the same two points to do the R1 + R2 ............. Is this because they're live?:D

And this after 'faffing' about in the CU disconnecting circuits and tightening up connector blocks. :p

The probes on my continuity tester are much finer than the probes on my earth loop lead which are bulky and sometimes difficult to engage in the small terminals often found in luminaires....There are only two probes to connect,not three,I'm going to do an R1R2 whatever,(is running out an R2 lead any less hassle than linking in the DB?)....and chances are even if I do manage to connect the earth loop probes the ***** type B mcb will pop out....:mad:

I keep a few Wago reusable push fit connectors in the testing kit. How much of a pain in the wrist are screw don connector blocks?

You could always link out L & CPC at the luminaire and test Zs at the CU - no more dangerous than testing PFC, Ze or RCD :)
