Discuss Zs testing on a light circuit. in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

If you just mean that your Megger says 'trip' on the display while you are trying to carry out your Zs test, and the MCB &/or RCD stays on, it's probably because your probes are loosing contact with the terminals momentarily. Push hard. No, harder. Goddam it man, harder than that....
Is that post to Dave or Johnny?

Hi mate, thanks for your response. It does have a rcbo, I have done the simple 2392 qualification and wasn't taught the different ways to test if rcd protected. I thought you could get a zs on 2 leads? how do you test with 3 leads on lighting zs.

Many thanks

1. Put the meter on no trip.
2. Connect all 3 leads into meter
3. Croc green lead to CPC
4. Push black probe on neutral
5. Push red probe on live
6. Hold tight and wait for result

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
