No I always test circuits with an instrument and get the ZS every time, I can't think why I would need to calculate this essential reading at all on any circuit, please humour me and let me know why you would.

i'm afraid its now part of the endemic H&S fever that grips this country
why take a risk working live when similar results can be achieved from dead tests.
a bit like banning craft knives from college workshops early 2000's.

When calculating Zs I use R1+R2 x 1.2+ ze. Does any1 else apply the temperature factor

I much prefer to measure Zs but if I was to calculate it I would use Ze + R1 + R2 then check against the values in the tables and x 0.8 to see if they complied.
Btw some really funny surreal replies to this thread so far, I wonder what they're on!
