It does not help with those work places that deem a 'PAT' test required employ people who simply do not look with any understanding at the items...
Sadly, the above could apply to almost any brand and any item of modern day consumer products.
I don't see that it makes a difference whether there is a socket at the end of the circuit or not.
They might be more common on socketed circuits...
