KITCHEN FLOOR STAINS CAUSED BY GLUE TRAPS

. I have found that glue traps can leave stains(orange/yellow) on kitchen floors. Obviously, I have to put something under the traps like newspaper. The bottoms of the traps are plastic and all I can think of is that the summer time heat may have caused some kind of reaction between the plastic and the floor.
What do you use to remove the stains from the kitchen...

 

Black Slate Shower Tray HELP!?!

Hi all

New to the forum, anyone have an idea how to clean and get these white stains off a newly installed black slate shower tray (8 months ago), my wife have stupidly used a product called ViaKal and it might have damaged the surface - but im unsure if this is stain or damaged.

I would be super grateful if anyone have advise or solution on this - i have read about cleaning with vingar + baking soda + water mix or using a slate black sealer follow by...

Grout & Tile cleaning

Hi all , it’s been years since last posted for advice and your methods .
My question is this ;
After grouting on large floor areas all I have ever used for final clean off is a hand held groat boy flat sponge and making passes down the length of the room covering approx 2 tile widths (lets say average 800x800 floor tiles )
With a croached back bent motion walking backwards. Then changing water and then repeating another 2 rows down the entire length of room...

 

Slate tile outdoors

Been asked to repair a black/grey slate, under a covered patio. The slate has a layer of "clay" on the surface, very easy to scrape off with a fingernail. I suspect it was never sealed. It makes "mud" when wet. Is it possible the acid wash maybe, and clean then seal? or is there a better option. The patio is upstairs, on regular deck framing, with a belly in the middle. But thats for another time.

Trying to find Cerpa Pasta Blanca tiles

Hi all,
We have to lift a section of floor in the kitchen and would like to replace with the same tiles when done rather than completely retile the kitchen and conservatory. The tiles are by Cerpa and are called Porcelanico Pasta Blanca. If anyone knows of anyone who might stock them it would be much appreciated. It's about 15 years since they were laid so i realise they may be discontinued.

Manual Cutting Method for socket/outlets in middle of ceramic tiles?

Beginner DIY Tiler, I'm contemplating drilling (with ceramic tile carbide tipped drill bits) then using a hand saw with tungsten blade to cut the required piece out.

Would this work okay?

I don't think using a wet saw, which I do have to do this would feel comfortable and using a manual saw you can easily stop or correct yourself as you go without wrecking a tile.

600mm tile layout - will this work or look odd?

Hi, i'm undertaking all of the tiling in our project.

I have two different types of 600mm tiles i'm using in a bathroom - a white tile which will go across the floor in a straight lay pattern, this white tile will also go one tile up the wall the entire way around. Above that we have the 2nd tile - a contrasting pink, terracotta tile. Both are 600mm, but they're actually 596mm (white) 598mm (pink). My plan to run them up the wall...

Can somebody help me? Last night, after a few beers, I was drawn to the bathroom-as you do! I walked on the skim coat I'd put down in the bathroom floor (6mm ply) during the day in preparation for Karndean interweave loose tiles. Shower tray not flush to wall

Hello All,

I have a shower tray installed and it is sitting away from the wall. I am going to put Mapei shower waterproofing kit on the walls and then tile down to it, but the gap looks too big for the 7mm tiles I wish to use. What are my options? The gap is about 10mm one end and just shy of 15mm in the corner. Thanks

Leveling uneven kitchen walls for porcelain tiling

I will be tiling with 60*30 procelain tiles. They weight about 3.57kg each which is about 20.6kg/sqm
The wall is not flat and it's plastered. Then ripping the current tiles off, some of the plaster also came off and when doing the "coin test" I can feel that some bit of plaster are not sound.
Considering all this I think that tiling over the existing plaster is a no go. How can I solve the situation?

Tile pattern, French but not the exactly

Hello!

I'm buying natural stone for floor in my house. Wife would like to do a French pattern.

One of the sellers has tiles sized

15x15cm 15x30cm 30x30cm 30x60cm

and sells them as French pattern but it's not the right sizes for it.

Can a similar pattern done with these sizes? Does it have a name?

Ok applied pr360 primer in three coats .first few tiles have been laid .the primer is peeling off this morning whilst picking the adhesive snobs that have squirmed out on the floor .its like a skin .not a good start . Looking for advice mainly on how much adhesive I should remove from between the tiles in a shower before grouting. I stupidly didn't remove a lot of it before it thoroughly dried, and while there is room to put grout in the gaps between tiles over the adhesive (in other words, the adhesive doesn't fully fill the voids), there is quite a lot of adhesive in the gaps as you can see below, and the inner edges of the...

Hi all,

We had an outdoor limestone patio laid at the start of June (finished circa 07/06/24). We are yet to grout it. I'd like to seal it before doing so and I have bought Lithofin Stain stop. I have read a lot regarding its application however I have received conflicting information about when it is best to do so. I have been told that waiting to seal it doesn't matter/ we need to wait 13 weeks/ we need to wait a year to let it effloresce etc.
