    Always had a JIB card. Asked for it a couple of times, often with agencies etc. However strangely those asking for it generally aren't actually prepared to pay the JIB rates of pay. Go figure.

    Aye, a REC is a Registered Electrical Contractor, i.e. one registered with RECI (the Register of Electrical Contractors of Ireland - also operating under the name Safe Electric).

    I think you'll find that the 3%/5% is not actually a requirement, but forms part of an Informative Appendix (and therefore might be seen as best practice). The actual requirements for voltage drop don't specify any specific permissible drop for BS7671 installations.
